The plot of Pearl Boy really went to hell, didn't it? I was reading the side chapters and would really like some explanation here:
Why did he ejaculate pearls? Because of a curse? Who cursed him? If thats the case, is there some fantasy or mythical element involved? Cause like, why does it not show up in ignite the down? It just feels inconsistent.
Why did he stop ejaculating pearls? Because the curse was lifted since he found the seme? Thats also poorly explained.
I guess we get a glipse of how the uke and Pilwoon met in his nightmare? But again, so badly explained.
How did they start having a thing? Seems like Pilwoon started sleeping with his mother before. Does that mean the uke was in love with his stepfather? I mean you could call that grooming, but by then he would be 20 already.
since its implied in the extras he “went back to being 20 (the age he was before everything happened) due to amnesia” was that also when he started cumming pearls? Like again, the explanation sucks.
Why did pilwoon have this obsession with the uke? Did he intend to sell him off to human trafficking from the start? Why and how did Pilwoon get him involved in this human trafficking scheme? How did he get him in debt first of all?
I think its mentioned the uke owned him money at the start and thats why he used to prostitute himself, to get the pearls and pay him? So when the seme came along he stopped doing it cause he could get more pearls and be with just one person ? So wasnt it more like prostitution than human trafficking? Then its shown a flashback of pilwoon watching the uke get gang raped in the past so im guessing that already used to happen? And then he gets thrown in there again idk
Like, to this day I haven't understood any of this and from what I remember it wasn't explained properly in a satisfactory way either.
There used to be a second author to this, which is why plot wise the first season used to make more sense and everything just kept getting worse after it. I think when she left a lot of plot holes remained unanswered. Indeed, not all artists are writers. Some of them do need to hire ghost writers and thats ok.
Also, this IS very fetichistic and trying to appeal to a certain kind of audience. Tell me why the rape and gang rape scenes were happening so ofter at this point. But not only that, but also the fact that the scenes themselves were extremely explicit, detailed, shown from different angles and even having close up on their genitals. I have even found those gang rape scenes of this manhwa in certain folders on this website that makes it clear it is intended for these ppl.
I still also dont get this trope of “ill let myself get raped by pilwoon to save my love interest “ like wtf? That just felt like a reason to insert more rape in there. At some point even the seme was doing dub con and non con shit. Cause tell me why did he keep going at it with the uke when he had already passed out in the extras? Character assassination fr.
