Yeommae used to be a FORBIDDEN practice but it didn't usually involve children this age. It typically happened with infants and fetus. It was strictly outlawed but people still used to practice it. It normally happened with kidnapped children who were starved and then tempted with a meal right before dying of starvation and then murdered once out the jar or bamboo tube. Absolutely horrific. Its horribly sad to think that people really did die that way
