I let this manwha marinate for years cause i was too lazy to read the novel so I wanted to check the comments to see if the current arc is the best time to start reading again, but instead I see some mf named "Kivomo" with a pfp from a story that's widely known for it's toxicity. Apparently they even spam the same argument and rants in this comsec which is wild

Although I do agree with the take that TOXIC shippers do ruin the fandom, it's awful to discredit the shipping community as a whole as they're actually known for their ability to revive fandoms or series based on the sole fact of whether the shipping community has any characters they can obsess over thus giving the series a major boost in popularity.

Hell, a good example of that is with Kagurabacchi where the og fans were practically spreading the word to bl shippers to give that manga a read. And lo and behold, it actually gave that manga a chance and boosted it's popularity after the shippers deemed it worthy of interest.

Overall, it depends on which type of shipping community the series attracts, and I don't mean to support the toxic shippers when I say this but they're quite literally commonplace in any fandom you go to. Your decision is to either ignore them and block any content you dislike from them (doesn't excuse their toxic behaviour, but I do hope these people change their ways).

Hope the whole "shippers ruin everything" discourse ends here, cause trust me I used to be one of such people but I eventually opened my eyes and realised that majority of them are just people who are having fun rather than the 10% that dish out d£ath threats
