This story is told in such an emotional and realistic way that, even with only six chapters published, you can already feel the chemistry and empathize deeply with the characters.
I completely understand Yuuji; he is a young man who yearns to be loved but struggles to express it properly—despite loving Kirato so much—because he feels inadequate. He suffered emotional neglect from his parents growing up; even though his mother is physically present, he feels abandoned and unwanted by her. Consequently, Yuuji cannot help but project these insecurities onto Kirato, fearing he is depriving him of a conventional romance—the kind of "normalcy" every young person should experience. Yet, he knows he couldn't be more wrong; he recognizes that this line of thinking is irrational, which is why he seeks to find himself. Despite this, he wants to continue life's journey alongside Kirato, because that is the essence of a relationship: understanding the other person and being there when everything seems to be falling apart, rather than being selfish and only showing up when things are going well. Kirato is an empathetic, loving, and affectionate person with an enviable level of emotional maturity; that is why he and Yuuji complement each other so well—they fill the gaps in one another and help meet each other's emotional needs.
