I feel like we’re missing major context since the novel is built around smut, it’s a big part of how their bond grows so in the manhwa it’s hard to buy into them, like they’re cute but that’s all there is?

Exactly.I haven't read the novel,but reading the mahnwa they didn't show much how their bond grew.It feels like it was skipped short,when that is the most important part for me in a love story like this
