Basically taeseo-ssi right? That's very different from mr yeon. Because taeseo-ssi shows they're wayyyy closer than before. Important detail
That's exactly it. It just changes the whole dynamic. I have my gripes with a lot of translations that change the way characters call each other (i.e. hyung becomes just the first name) but there was no reason here not to use Mr. Taeseo for Taeseo-ssi.
Hits harder when the manhwa/manga etc is especially set in countries and cultures where the usage of names and surnames changes absolutely everything about the character dynamics. In Asian countries especially east asian countries being on first name basis with someone takes a hella lot of time and energy and shoes the depth of relationships amongst people and is very important from cultural and language aspect. Hope the translator realises this and changes it properly in the coming chapters
I hate that while Yeomin calls Taeso by his first name, the translation keeps writing it as Mr. Yeon. Makes it feel like they’re less close than what the author intended for them to be
