Honestly to me it’s giving off more Author decided to tackle a topic that they haven’t researched shit about- just cliche after cliche. Weird pacing (as a first time reader) (isn’t he an experienced agent? And he got into a random car with zero hq communication? Come on.) and clearly the authors tryna make a seemingly “smart” character without being smart themselves.
It’s just really childish. He’s posing in the staff uniform but acting hella stupid about stuff that actually matters
