Could someone explain the last few panels where the scene of the guy and old lady flash through the seme’s mind for a second please? I can’t catch what the author is trying to say :”)

Personally, I feel like the author is trying to say that there are moments where we can't be kind or feel certain emotions in a certain situations but that doesn't mean we're a bad person as whole. Like how the man was only kind at the old lady one day and is inconsiderate to the person who jump on the train rack causing a massive transportation halt, Hayato's feeling toward his nephew when he was first born and now that he could fell happy and content with his life that he is able to hold his nephew and find him cute like genuinely. If you didn't know Hayato's past or his internal turmoil toward his attachment to his brother you would think that him hating his new born nephew because his brother won't prioritize him as much as before now is such a jerk and immature move but people feel certain emotions for a reason and I think that's what the seme realize at the end panel, Hayato—his lover is slowly becoming a healthy happy person and he must felt happy because he is one of the reasons why.
