If they didn’t meet when they were younger, Shuraka could never trust Tei. One of the only reasons Shuraka trusts Tei is because Tei trusted and protected him when he was just a little boy. If he didn’t, he would be just another pink hair wannabe loved dude.

While I do see your point, it's still weird cause yk adults also start trusting each other after they meet when they are adults. Personally as someone who was groomed, I don't like the narrative that a child was so in love with someone they met 14 years ago and stayed that way just cause they trust them. Also I'm not saying the other guy groomed him.

The story would have been the same if they met later, like let's say when the younger dude was an adult? The same author has written age gap relationship before so I bet know how to do it without it being this creepy.
