I recently started seeing the stupid ass sounding slang term called "hetslop" and apparently it's becoming a wide spread problem in social media. Dumbass LGBTQIA+ worshippers are spreading it all over straight peoples posts. I hate when they try to force gender upon others and now it's turning into shaming straight people. What the hell? Theres nothing wrong with enjoying this. The art and spicy scenes are phenomenally drawn and they have tension. This eerie sort of toxic vibe isnt imagination though, the novel is dark and prioritizes staying true to yandere fantasies instead of character development. People arent imagining it when they feel something off with this due to that

In any romance genre, it should be more about the dynamic / chemistry of the characters rather than the gender. If you genderbend one or both of the characters, it's not going to change the fact that they have bad chemistry / dynamic.

I think that's what the original term "hetslop" was for, male and female relationships that have bad chemistry but are put together anyways because they're a male and female. though with that definition it's still going to be 'slop' even if genders were/are changed, etc. How authors choose to write attraction is different, and doesn't have to be some super complex reason that a character is attracted to another one.

But it does feel like nowadays that term is used for any straight relationship in media. I recommend something to someone that was straight, and without me explaining anything it got called hetslop
