The king is literally the biggest low life coward I've seen in a comic in a hot minute. You know your son is in love with a woman that the court doesn't approve of, just like you used to be. So to "avoid him getting hurt" you force him to marry a foreign princess and have the love of his life marry his little brother?!? It honestly irritates me that the ml is even playing along to keep the peace. It would have been much more satisfying for him to actually stand his ground.
