Hi! I just have a question because I might have been wrong with my assumptions. Do uploaders like juju lose motivation to upload and ultimately stop when these ai scanlations also upload on the stories they are uploading? I want to know this because the way I have been viewing this mess is that I read their translation when there are no available chapter for that yet or no one else is translating a story and then when someone uploads a proper chapter or the officials, I transition and read that for better clarity and all that. When a proper uploader is not behind, I just wait for theirs because it’s like a couple of hours or a day of waiting anyways. I made a comment on another story about how I and other people (assuming that they do too?) have been just taking advantage of these ai scanlations and I assume that just like me, many also don’t go to their website because of ads+paywalls and since they are uploading on our preferred website anyways, might as well take advantage of them until they stop and run out of funds for hosting and backend stuff because you know, they upload there but also upload here for promotion but no one (I assume because everyone is apparently pissed off) is even going there to read so they just run out of money.
That’s my take on this but I don’t know, if proper uploaders like juju gets upset and no one else uploads good chapters then...idk, my mindset is just to not be picky and it’s not like I am supporting their website like I don’t even go there. Because I don’t think this is a black and white situation. But as I was saying, if proper uploaders like juju don’t upload anymore then that’s a different story. Also, i deleted that comment because that one variable changes things and I felt bad not thinking about this enough lol.
Do you happen to know?
no idea. idk if you can see stats on mangago for how often an upload gets viewed, so i dont know if that would affect a real scanlator's mentality.
I'm hoping youre right about the MTL guys running out of money... but the opportunity cost is so low for them already i dont see that happening any time soon.
I think a real scanlator's motivation would depend entirely on the individual person. Im sure some groups dropped projects bc of the AI fuckers, and im sure some uploaders are just doing their thing. I noticed Mind the Gap, despite being an ongoing series by a popular author, doesnt have clankers spamming the chapter listing, so maybe there's something the going on there that's detering the slop generators?
I'm just one random user on this site, I have no way to change how people interact with these chapters. But it really is so fucking annoying when your notifications get spammed by the three stooges scrambling over themselves to drop a steaming pile of MTL garbage directly into my inbox.
Much to think about.

What the fuck is up lately it’s like every new manhwa has 3-4 different uploaders
