The first 30 chapters were extremely painful to read, I only pushed through because of the positive reviews regarding ml's redemption. I have to say, I never expected the author to do the redemption so well! The author isn't trying to fetishize rape and blackmail and you can see it with the way the story develops.
When the redemption arc began I was really skeptical because it felt like the personality of the ml changed overnight with the way he became so loving after treating mc so ruthlessly. But as I progressed with the story it came to light that the ml was originally not a person who would do all of those painful things, he treated his behavior as a coping mechanism to his trauma.
The day ml met mc was during the time he was facing alot of problems and his urge to ruin someone grew stronger, that's when he saw the mc as his toy to cope with. Absolutely, this does not excuse his behavior at all and the author makes sure it doesn't! He redempts, the mc doesn't come running to him after he apologized. Even if he was sincere it isn't enough for all the pain he caused for him. They both realize that fact, this is when the ml gradually tries to make mc happy and treat him the best. He didn't do it to lure him into liking him, but it was just his way of redempting, he never tries to cross boundaries. He just wants to see mc be happy. These 200 chapters were absolutely necessary to not rush it and execute it properly. I love both of them. The author did a good job at writing these characters, it's well written.
Please do give it a chance, I binged the 213 chapters in 2 days it was that good!! I'm sure not everyone may like it and this would probably frustrate you if you don't like to be patient but please, give it a chance !! I rate it a 9.2/10 (o^-')b !！
