From the sequence i read it in, it's near the end of the main novel (Vol 6), and after Ilay and Taeui are announced as wanted terrorists due to the bombing of the royal private estate, they are forced to go into hiding into frankfurt, germany and with this, the main novel ends. their story continues in the sequel Diaphonic Symphonia.
They are a side couple in the sequel with Richard and Christoph as the main couple.
