translator, well first of all, thanks for the update but what do you imply? kidnapping is indeed toxic behavior but self harm?? how would that be toxic if he was self harming without anyone knowing? it's just pure and deep suffering, that would have make me genuinely sad but i would never think it's toxic. It would be only if the self harm imply shaming someone, and showing off to everyonewhile shaming someone.

Well the only reason he considers self harm is to use it so Garam would be worried. It's a common trope tops use to manipulate bottom into staying. So its not really the act of self harm its the intention.

.... I hope you grow out of this mindset , you might not think self harm isn't toxic unless others are involved, but it's toxic to you, your body who's fighting microbes and regenerating damaged cells EVERY SINGLE DAY so you can continue to live. There are other healthy ways to cope with pain harming yourself is not a smart choice.

yeah, my comment was more about the toxic behavior, not about the impact on the body, but to answer the end of your comment, it's very hard to stop when you're deep into this, and for a long time, it changes through times. starting bcs you're feeling terrible and too much, then keeping doing this to cope, and in the end, you keep this bcs you are unable to unalive yourself (for some reasons), so that makes you think every time you sh, it's a kind of death so it's keeping you alive

Uh… let’s be more real. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a self harm level of depression, but it does take many forms. For some it’s a pain to regain feeling when they’re numb, for some it’s a way to remind themselves they exist. When you feel alone in the world some use self harm to wonder if another person could see them hurting on the outside just as much as they were on the inside and whether they would finally care. It’s not strictly a manipulation thing.

Garam’s desire to keep their relationship under wraps clearly hurts jaehyuk and now that he’s realized his antics to get garam back to their apartment has resulted in garam’s health declining, he feels even worse about himself. Him wanting to hurt himself to see if anyone, particularly garam, would even care anymore speaks more to the notion that he genuinely doesn’t believe anyone, not even garam, care about him.

I hate toxic tops and yes that is a manipulation tactic used by abusers but I don’t think in this particular case that is why he’s thinking about self harm.

There are many healthy ways to cope with personal issues. Unfortunately it’s hard for someone who is mentally ill to the point of wanting to self harm to see that. Treating mental health is important in part bc it’s also a path to help a person recognize and use healthy coping mechanisms. A person who is ill to the point of self harm truly cannot recognise/care about the consequence of self harm. That’s why they need help.
