There was nothing about Chicago just delusional Jo stand who couldn't get over the fact that Ian didn't want Jo. They believe that Ian isn't happily married to TJ and living the life he wanted. It's crackship shenanigans.
Jo stan basically claim that the story has an open ending and that Ian is in Chicago for Jo graduation. Till this day some of them still cling onto that and the author posted today about an event where you can get your book signed by her both on twt and insta. Some Stan went on the insta comments and started arguing about how TJyw isn't endgame and so on because of Chicago. Doyak decided to shut it down and said that there was no significant in the background because she purchase all the background that are used from SketchUp USA models. I mean from the beginning of the series the background pictures don't really play any big role from the start but that side keep putting meaning into and she cleared that up. They're still mad as hell and calling her dumb and an ass writer because their background theory isn't true.

I keep seeing comments about the author clarifying Ian not being in Chicago. What’s the significance behind Chicago? Was Ian supposed to meet Jo in Chicago? What’s the big deal?
