In this chapter alone the ml throws mc to the ground. If the novel somehow develops him into a sweet character, it can only be bullshit or the writer's a genius.

Ok let's start w after the last chapter, (starts at ch25 novel). Lyle will no longer do the rut contract but he'll make Haejin stay in the manor to recuperate. Lyle will order the butler to make sure mc is always taken care of, specially his meals. He asked them to make sure he actually eats out of genuine concern.

The butler sensing that Haejin seems to be gaining Lyle's favor, is afraid mc will rat him out. So he plans to keep tormenting mc in the guise of ml's order(like he always does). Now this is where the most annoying and traumatic part comes. So he then proceeds to keep force feeding mc during meals. Everytime that happens the butler knocks at the door, a signal of the repeated abuse. This continuous events lead the mc to be traumatized of eating w staffs around, the butler's outfit and heck even the sound of people knocking.

The last straw is when the butler decided to drug Haejin into a heat. Everyone knows Lyle is traumatized to omegas. Wc is why he likes Haejin scentless and as a recessive, heat isnt possible. Butler thinks that if Lyle thinks Haejin approached him during heat, Lyle will finally kick him out. And thus he'll keep his position safe.

Now the part we are all waiting for. Haejin and Lyle will proceed w the heat. Unfortunately for them Lyle unintentionally bonds w him(a big problem for later). After the deed, Lyle gets the biggest awakening and genuinely question everything. He then proceed to ask for the cctv footage. This time he called directly to the external security, not thru the butler.

He gets slapped w all the horrific events Haejin was subjected to. Thus begins the purge. He collected multiple evidences, and proceed to kick out ALL employees. But not unscathed. Every single one is subjected to legal lawsuit. As for the butler he plans to writhe him dry and make him suffer legally for atleast 5 years(duration he tormented mc). Mind you this all happened overnight.

Here's the start of redemption arc. This spans till the end of the story. Lyle ofcourse sees himself as the biggest contributor of Haejin's suffering, so he won't leave especially himself unscathed. Throughout the redemption arc, Ml proceeds to renovate every single part of the house. He installed carpeted floors, hand railings and elevators just so Haejin won't feel the burden of walking anymore. He even changed the current mayor when he wasn't given permit to do so.

This didn't stop there, it's kinda a lot so I'll just highlight what I remember.
- ml rehired the og butler(Mark) and all new employees are beta
- nobody is allowed to knock anymore, he installed a bell in every single door
- there are now security guards everywhere
- ml gave mc a greenhouse
- Ml remade a duplicate house of the Brights, he managed to track down the seized furnitures
- made mc study back again
- gave mc a gaming room
- not to mention the multiple buildings, establishments ownership that was named to Haejin
- ml practically skips work just so he can eat and walk with mc (much to his secretary's dilemma)
- ml uses his exclusive helicopter to go home so he can see mc quickly and other cute extreme shinanigans

But there's no suffering? Ok remember the very reason Mc was even contracted in the first place? Ml needs pheromones. And worse is he bonded w Haejin, now he can't accept any other pheromones except Haejin. But after the accidental heat he never ever once tried to show any sexual contact again. He was willling to slowly and silently die just to make Haejin comfortable.

Lyle is now practically traumatized of what happened to Haejin. He is now very attentive in everything, even made Mark and his secretary report his every movement. You can say that no stones were unturned. He was a gentleman to the core. I guess the best description of his actions is courtship. It was a very slow process. Haejin was too broken after all. Dw Haejin was sooo indifferent thru it all (except the Bright house). Kinda hard to make anyone like Lyle unless u read it urself. All I can say is it's delivered cleanly. After that they're just genuinely sweet to each other.

What I can say is this; all the things he’s done for the MC just feels like PAYMENT.
So far—since I haven’t seen it for myself via the manhwa yet, it just feels like SETTLEMENT…

“Hey sorry I hurt you and traumatized you, here’s the settlement money to compensate.”

The fact that Haejin never saw his parents’ final
moments can never be bought with Lyle’s “gentlemanliness”.

Can I ask, did Lyle know about Haejin’s parents, and that Haejin mossed the chance to see them after their death? If so, what did Lyle do?

Oh and, how did Haejin forgive Lyle?
I hope he stayed indifferent…
But being indifferent means my pookie Haejin hasn’t healed yet.

But I hope Haejin didn’t forgive Lyle easily.

Yea he is very regretful bout that rut day. Which is why he tried tracking down anything that he can salvage about the Brights. Hence he remade the house in the castle ground. He even took a very suspicious drug, just so he won't subject mc to any of his rut again

I think what made Lyle lovable is that he made Haejin live life again. Bb boy is so lost in the world, he even tried to commit suicide. Lyle's constant attention in every movements and triggers helped mc slowly see the beauty in the world again. Im excited to eee everyone's reaction during those arcs

I hope the manhwa captures the redemption phase well. Especially Lyle’s POV.

I need to see his face writhing from pain seeing Haejin’s condition.

He definitely didn't! Which makes it sooo satisfying. Rather than anger Haejin lost all emotions. He can't even smile, much less feel angry. They say indifference is the best revenge and Lyle took that blunt head on

Haejin starts feeling his emotions as he heals. My most memorable is honestly the Bright's house. I think it's that moment he finally cracked and he cried. He never really got the chance to grieve their deaths. Bright is and will always be with him. Even when they later married he still kept the Bright surname

It's a series of actions and affections that made Haejin finally accept Lyle. It's the consistency and genuine care. Like Lyle is willing to kneel down for Haejin. And that says a lot given Lyle's aristocracy and alpha genes. Dw all I can picture during the chasing arc is Lyle and his sad knitted eyebrows. He's like a dog wagging his tail for the bare attention.

Oh and Haejin loves the greenhouse. Haejin is usually always coped in his room all depressed. That greenhouse became another safe haven. Ig another point was given to Lyle that day

Indifference throughout!???

So 70% of this story is the scumbag Lyle just being dragged around like a rug?? Serves him right.
