i think it's so sweet, but also telling. we already know yor loves loid, but I'm going to argue that loid knew he liked her wayyyy earlier. he still tries to act so rational in his mind, but you can tell from the beginning he has always made irrational decisions when it comes to yor. helping her at the party in the beginning, bleeding and still showing up for her [before their marriage when they were the most shadiest]. giving her confidence. even think back to how nightfall says that when he's with yor and anya in their home, his real smile comes out. not his fake one. and here, time and time and TIME again, he keeps making decisions that almost puts operation strix in danger because he loves yor and it does blind him from what he "should" do as a spy. biggest one being sparing yuri's life.
