When they were talking about who would take over each family (back when Theo mentioned Seth taking on concubines to help repopulate) they made mention that the second child would take over Seth’s homeland. That was because Seth refused to be with anyone but Theo; so, they gave him the Marita last name and the other two will take after Theo’s family which is why they are Percius. (I don’t think I spelled that right)
It was just the heir selecting and Cheja is likely the most spiritually and magically gifted compared to the others.
Thats my theory at least.
