Its frustrating that readers, always expects this knight in shining armor savior ml that basically predicts everything and saves the mc with nothing no personality or character other than saving the mc. But also complains when they always save the mc and the mc is dependent on them. And when being handled with a flawed character in a very morally realistically ambiguous situation, they crashed out.
omg literally. and everything about the story points to it being the mc's story, the mc is the only one looking at the readers in the cover, even in the newer chapter we have no idea what truly happened to the mc or ml in the past except for some glimpses. If this was just a romance bl, we would have known everything already and the main focus would have been their relationship. Its ironic because some bl readers keep bitching about how they don't always want romance centric plots but when there finally is one they start whining about shit that doesn't matter. white his relations with gjord is a huge part of the story. its not the only thing that matters.
Exactly! This is the difference between a complex story with complex characters versus stories whose plot is spoon fed to the readers.

i think it's really funny how ppl think gjord is idk a god? what has he done for sylhan? wtv he could with the little power he had. yeah he ended up trusting the wrong ppl to help protect him. but what else could he have done? lol he's not an actual god with infinite power
i'm not even defending him because we don't really see much of his side of the story, we're following someone with memory problems and hallucinations, practically an unreliable narrator.
i really don't know what people expected him to do. more than he already did. just because he does it behind the scenes doesn't mean he isn't doing anything. he got his arm cut off for him, and got hexed to have an arm so he can keep protecting/get revenge, he went into a battle because he thought it'd help protect him and wtv else i don't even remember or we haven't seen yet. like what do y'all actually want him to do? he's a bastard with no power, that had to fight his way to the top to actually be able to do anything.
