Taeui actually shouted to ilay that he will come back to him in the novel but Ilay couldn’t hear anything because of the noise in the background and even if he did, he wouldn’t give a fuck his only priority was getting Taeui back
not like ilay would take that as an answer and would still try to snatch him back anyway, but hey he'd at least understand why he didn't willingly go to him right away.
