no, no. the author wants you to think about it. that is the point of this kind of prolog. if you really read the story (and not just here for the smut), you will realize that Tei could’ve just let himself or manipulate himself to fall for Shuraka for the sake of his homeland, but no. He contemplated. Why? because he still sees Shuraka as a child he needs to protect. But now, he is realizing that the Shuraka he knew before isn’t the same Shuraka that needs protecting. The Shuraka he knows now is the one who can make him make irrational decisions because of feelings he can’t describe. Hopefully after this chapter, Tei will no longer hesitate to love Shuraka openly.

yknow….if you don’t think about how tei met shuraka as a kid, the story line really isn’t that bad. and the art is so pretty
