I’m not caught up yet and am only on chapter 28, but I have some theories about how the story will progress based on what I’ve seen so far. I’m going to put spoiler spacing just in case since it could be a spoiler depending on how accurate I am.
Okay, so I’m thinking Lia is a child that went missing like Diana. When we get that first scene of the duke in his office while everyone is looking for her, he thinks “my friend, is this how you felt?” So, the duke has a friend that also lost a child, and I have a huge feeling that that child is Lia.
I have a feeling that she is connected to the current Archmage because of the amount of times he’s brought up. We’ll know for sure if she ever visits that magic swordsman lady and ends up meeting him.
I think her necklace is behind her regression and the issue with her appearance. Her parents probably had it on her to protect her or something, and Diana and maybe her oldest brother Lucio (I have no idea why we hardly ever see him) can see her true appearance for whatever reason. I’m thinking Lucio can also see her since she made a big deal about him being able to recognize someone who has such a plain appearance. Though it could also just be because he likes her or something.
Now for her magic, I think that in her first life someone, probably her master, was stealing her magic for themselves and that’s why she had so little mana. That’s also why he was able to cast magic in a similar way to the Archmage because she probably has that level of talent. That’s why he took her in and gave her all those boring missions that didn’t have any danger. He sent her on her last mission because he didn’t need her alive anymore.
I originally thought her master was the Archmage in disguise and he only attained that status because he stole her magic, but not long after I thought that, it was shown that he already has the Archmage status in Lia’s second life, so unless he has a different source of mana right now, that theory has been thrown out.
