Bl manhwa authors and representation don't belong in a same sentence. Most of these authors don't even know verse guys exist. Some author's confessed this in their creator's note. Some don't even know the basics of queer community. Some are prolly even homophobic who think it is okay to consume this stuff in fiction but should not happen in real life. Bl is another content to farm for these author's because it's hot and sells. Now I will not sit here and say ignorance is a sin. But if you are in the industry, you should prolly know the mechanics of the queer community. It's like those young rookie homophobic Thai actors using bl series as a stepping stone into the acting industry.
For the people saying there's young looking/baby faced asian men too, I agree. There are. Not just Asian, every race has some young looking men, same with women too. But do you really think the author is representing that? Is it really representation or the author's deliberate choice to make mc childish to sell the comic better. There's a difference between young looking and child looking. Plus in most manhwa, the uke is made out to be one with childish personality. So we have child looking uke + childish personality+ very young looking body and skin+ tiny shrimp for a dick. Do you really not see the author trying to hit a certain demographic here?
The author can make the ml 6'5 hyper muscular big dick and everything. Even if the author portrays them in their teenage 13/14 years, they are still drawn to be that muscular so why can't the same courtesy be extended to ukes? Why do we have to jump through mental hooplas of "there's some baby faced asian men" "it is common that some asian men look like that" "There's some genetics at play too".
The author's weird. That's it. Now will I go and harass the author over this? No. Will I knock at people's houses and police them if you should read this or not? No. You can read whatever you want. If you did not even comment, i would not have even known you popped in to read this. But you don't have to play defense for the author/artists. Even in real life, I won't go harass people who are dating young looking people because that's not my business. This is fiction and artists have creative freedom to create their characters. With that being said, if the artists deliberately choses to draw mc as childish and ml as a greek good then the author prolly has a fetish to sell.
