I agree, would have made the story even better.
I mean there is really not much she can do except for finding out the truth. Being a prosecutor means you speak with intention, knows politics and knows the limit. (Well some of them do). I feel that she was the blunt type, and knows the political hell of lawyers.
Now that you've mentioned it. Yeah.. maybe it just the writer avoiding studies of the old laws. It does sound quite difficult to include? Idk. Just speculation. Just imagine how cool it could've been if they did tho... Such a missed opportunity.
She doesn't seem to use her skills as former prosecutor well. I am surprised that the laws of the current country she is living in barely mentioned, let alone Eve knowing those laws and using them to her advantage ( something she could have done with the latest tea party situation). The writer could have changed her background to a former salary worker and the situation would have barely changed.
