So glad i decided to push through in reading this, this was such a gem!! a fresh breath of all the other romfan stories that i have read. In this story the FL decides to become a palace maid as way to survive as a princess of a conquered country and the crown prince allows it. In here she's not really forced to become a maid, she was abused all her life growing up in that so called "family" of hers and the crown prince conquering the country and killing those abusers made her experience the freedom of never having to see or be abused by them any longer so yeah, it was her decision to be a palace maid than be dead and like i really like how she handles the conflict that comes in her way, she is such a kind and smart FL but just because she's kind doesn't mean she doesn't fight back from the people who mocks or fights her, she uses her wits well. and like i love the way her and princess interactions and their bond is being shown along with the 3rd princess Grace and prince Reysis. They're like a painting hehe
