High stakes and conflict are fine. But for this specific story, the conflict particularly the potential SA of the MC (not confirmed yet if it happened, but the tone seems so) is like a whiplash.
It's so jarring because the narrative built by the author for the past 4 season is light and fluffy. Then boom. Here come's the grandpa. Which is fine, there are shitty people so we get it. It would've also be fine if he's harsh to them. IF ONLY they did not involve SA on the mix just to have them broke up.....after 4 peaceful seasons.
Girl, the conflict that the author chose was way too heavy for the story and vibes she built. That's why I think almost all of us are like.....is this the same story? lol. ( ̄∇ ̄")
