Sorry I ended up with an essay while reflecting..
Unfortunately not everyone will achieve that closeness and bonding they tote on TV.
Friendship is hard work, constant communication is key but in a society where everyone is moving towards choosing to talk to chapbots about their feelings friendships can appear surface.
In addition, humans are often self-important. This may mean their careers, relationships, family and even hobbies are put before their friends. This is often the reason that meeting with friends becomes rarer as we age (Also why the elderly have such close bonds cause those factors apply less to them).
It's disappointing when you care more than the other parties and your effort is not reciprocated. Don't be too hard on yourself, what your feeling now happens to a lot of adults.
It can be draining when you find your friendships have become superficial but some relationships are just like that. Give things time, friendships evolves with age, you might not feel that closeness now but it may change later on.
In the meantime work on your own happiness. Do things that make you happy. This could mean focusing on your hobbies or other things that's important to you.

I have this frustrating ass feeling that something isn't right and I can't really address it. Im surrounded by people and things to do yet I feel chronically lonely. Everyone is always so preoccupied with other things and even if they're present they don't feel involved. i guess I personally end up caring a lot abt friends but I end up feeling left out even tho they just ate going on with their lives. I don't want to just meet and catch up once in a while. I feel like I got sold this fantasy of adventure and deep bonding but I never get to experience it. I don't want to be and adult anymore
