MC is an indecisive hypocrite… You go above and beyond your role as a manager because you like the ML, but get disappointed and hurt with his words, yet you yourself have never confessed but expect the ML to treat you a certain way?
You have the right to be hurt when your crush doesn’t seem to treat you gently, or when your efforts are not acknowledged, but you have no right to be disappointed with their words and responses when you yourself haven’t even made up the courage to confess.
Also, before you come at me, yes ML is A JERK. However, his entire situation molded him that way. Exploitation, exposure, harassment (sexual and verbal), bashing, trauma, mental anguish, and fear. These are things he experienced the moment he learned to speak. It doesn’t JUSTIFY his behavior, but it is UNDERSTANDABLE.
MC knew exactly what he got himself into. He knew about the ML’s circumstances, yet he somehow dismisses ML’s traumas and treat them lightly…
Anyway, this got me hooked because both characters are complex. Despite MC’s state of being poor (which most of us have experienced), I find myself more sympathetic towards the ML’s state of isolation.
