Hello! As someone who often gets VERY sick after a little rain (and also, a coincidence but I'm also asian), It really does happen, especially since climates in asia aren't really stable, sometimes being sunny then stormy, then sunny again.

i don’t even think it’s possible in the way it's often portrayed lol. i’m sure it’s more than possible to feel a little sick after it rains because of temperature differences, and maybe being cold for long periods of time could lower your immune system slightly but just enough to cause you to be unable to as easily fight off a cold virus you already had (unlikely but possible), but you can’t catch a contagious cold simply from being caught in the rain because that’s caused by a virus i think it’s just a common and convenient romance trope
