I don't think you quite understood what Rosetta was saying.
She's not being mean, she's trying to say -- albeit in her own way -- that she feels like she understands and relates to Maxi. She knows that what Maxi went is worse so if Rosetta feels as if she cannot trust or love, she feels like it must be even worse than Maxi.
