i thought it was interesting (but the newest chapters have me worried ) but yeah it is that. if its worth anything, i liked seeing that his og life does play a pretty big part narratively, him being way older and already been in showbiz helps him become a mentor to the others, and his end goal has to do with his og life. i also liked how he ended up reaching his needed success, i thought it was cool and unique. theres also some fuckery with the reincarnation
