I couldn't finish reading the Payday because of the radical art change. It just felt like they were different characters. The art styles had basically nothing in common.

That's true. It like same name new character. Everyone's changed xd

I did try to get into it, but just couldn't... At best, it felt like fanfic of the original story, and that isn't a high compliment.

I kinda hoped all the time that it would be its own story, with name changed and a little tweaking, it could have been just own story in the same world - and it would have been much better to read, even with the amnesia arc, because it surprisingly wasn't bad amnesia arc (it didn't drag).

Yeah, I totally agree. I also stopped reading it because it felt so weird? It didn't feel the same as the 1st story. If I didn't saw the comments here I wouldn't even recognize that it's the same story

If I remember right, I just knew because I think for a long time there had been empty Payday slot in b@to connected to the author for a long time, and figured there that there will be sequel - but it took like forever to happen, and if I hadn't had that knowledge somewhere back of my head, I probably would have dismissed the Payday story.

It still didn't help much, I still can't connect those two manhwas. But at least I knew far beforehand there was connection.

I'm going to be forever disappointed that they didn't even try to find at least little similar style artist.

Maybe that is why it took so long for Payday manhwa to happen, the black Korean corporation didn't want to pay enough for an artist, so they might have taken any artist that will accept the cheap contract. (This is just a guess, but wouldn't be surprising if it's something like that.)
