Liu Weikun is not just some ordinary golden alpha he is a special alpha called called a "Ghost". One who has the ability to turn betas into omegas if he knots them several times. Yeeyeon is a beta but he is also the mate of Liu. The destined mate of a Ghost is called "Diamond Dust". Which is why Liu thought he was an omega and could smell pheromones on him that nobody else could and why Yeeyeon could only smell Liu's pheromones despite being a beta. As you can see after they had sex for the first time Liu knotted him and was panicked because that's the first time he lost control and did that to someone but despite that they do still continue to have sex no protection several times. They do get together and love each other very much especially Liu obsessively so to the point where he doesn't want to tell Yeeyeon about him being a Ghost under circumstances where Yeeyeon can leave him so he tries to open a gallery in New York and live there with Yeeyeon. However Yeeyeon finds about what Liu being a Ghost and they break up and Yeeyeon moves away to Paris with Yuna to another gallery and they don't contact each other.
