I don’t think the mage was taking Abel’s side, I think (from my perspective and how it was explained in the carriage) that the mage knew Hardy was being manipulated by Gray and if he didn’t say anything — knew Hardy would be upset/leave without all the facts (which is what Gray wants). Which if he leaves, power to it, but he shouldn’t be pushed into it by someone who is doing it for their own greed/because they want Hardy for himself.

How disappointing of Oscar, wanting to do your best for abel doesn't justify what was done to lio. I don't like the mage always taking abel's side. Abel needs help. Too bad gray was late
