I started this when i was 11, 12? That's two decades ago. yes, 20! I left off sometime just as they were starting training for the American movie; mainly because life and other hobbies. Been thinking about this recently because I visited a used bookstore. Like 10 years ago, I decided to buy the whole collection at that point in time even though it was ongoing (I think viz only caught up to vol 30-something). I thought maybe the bookstore had skipbeat, specifically vol 2(I think it was that) which had a misprint back then. Didn't find it but that led me back to coming back to this today. I'm not really feeling rereading from the beginning right now b/c length (though I love the early kyoko experiences especially her professionalism and endurance that earned Tsuruga's respect when she unfortunately fractured her foot). Anyway, picking back up again when Tsuruga decided to come to terms to her and just the whole feelings flooded back about how awesome and excited I was that they finally got there after so many years. I'm going to read to catch up now but I wanted to drop this comment for a timestamp of how I'm feeling and a reflection. This was one of my faves back then (hence I thought about buying/collecting unwittingly still ongoing until now). Even though I'm still wondering why the mangaka hasn't decided to bring closure to this story, it's nostalgic and I do hope that it will round out to a good ending someday. I used to think maybe a time skip here or there would help. I just don't want an open ending because, aside from her relationship, I really was rooting for Kyoko to make it and become an a-list actress that her skills demonstrate. Nakamura-sensei, I pray that you have a vision and time and the industry will allow you to carry forward with this series as you intend. the manga world is a different place from 10 years ago, let alone 20. Still rooting for Kyoko (and Kyoko x Ren)
