Warning: LONG ASS RANTING So I’m not gonna comment on THEIR specific dynamic however, I’ve started to pick up the trend that typically when a bottom is the older one it’s just an excuse to make em the experienced one. It’s also INCREDIBLY COMMON in the side pairings for some reason too? Like oh in the main couple the top is the whore but don’t worry in the side couple the bottom is the whore do equilibrium or homeostasis or some shit. They gave us the “emotionally inept, ran through” combo for both couples.
The side couple was more interesting but it came at a cost of agitating me more than the main couple did. Yeah the main couple was fucking aggravating too. And tbh even then the main couple had more personality than the second couple top? It was like his only personality was, putting it simply, to be a simp.
I’m just not a fan of the “marks” while the other one essentially begs to get a chance. I’m not a fan of either of em doing that essentially but there’s something that irks me more when it’s the younger top x older bottom dynamic. Like this top legit comes IN TEARS to beg him for a chance meanwhile he’s fucking half the gay population in Korea.
I’m NOT SLUT SHAMING IM NOT - but seeing the second couple bottom not just with ONE, not just with TWO, BUT THREE DIFFERENT GUYS SO FAR IS CRAZY. Like dude idgaf bout who he’s smashing??? I don’t really even care for this side couple. I had to go back to make sure I wasn’t going crazy and they were all different - chapter 5,30, and 39 and they’re all for sure different.
At some point it gets past the point of yearning and just turns pathetic. I empathize with these top sure, but I just can’t. AND HE WAS GOING TO DO IT AGAIN IN CH 48 but he felt actual guilt after that. And it’s so fucking interesting we get his internal monologue from him saying he was afraid the top might hate him when he’s sick, but like… dude, you’ve done plenty good to give him reasons to when u spit his feelings back in his face prior to all this. They’re just whack.
And it always always happens that since he’s been cold and distant and yada yada yada with all his prior flings I JUST KNEW someone would come be a bitch, the top would be there and the bottom would be all like, oh I didn’t want him to see this - LIKE BOOOOO TIRED TROPE. LEAVE THE FUCKING SLUT BOTTOM ALONE!! WHY ARE THEY ALWAYS THE ONLY ONES “PUNISHED” FOR BEING PROMISCUOUS MEANWHILE THE WHORE TOP GETS LEFT ALONE! Also I 100% agree with him kicking that guys ass, but saying him sleeping around was a deal breaker is fucking crazy considering he was also doing it? So just becuz ur top was a virgin who waited for you…. Alright well. No further comment, your honor, I just thought that was a whack statement.
The side stories were their saving grace and even then they had the stupid ass miscommunication/jealous trope for the end…
