Chapter 8

LaNansha June 23, 2026 10:47 am

I understand he’s traumatized, but seeing a grown adult running away in the middle of a work shift threw me off. I had to read it twice to make sure it wasn’t happening in his head instead. I think I’ll take a break and stack from here for a while.

In the meantime, I might just read Dear Door again.

He basically has PTSD, and immediately started having a panic attack. It's understandable.

I’m not saying it’s not understandable. It’s the way it happened that is odd. It felt like a childish reaction, like literally a child running away in fear in an adult setting. Making some kind of excuse and rushing to the bathroom to calm down would make more sense than whatever that was. It just really threw me off.

You wouldn’t understand unless you’ve experienced it. And if you have, and you handled it just like u described, then good for you. I’m just saying we all react differently to things, and his way of handling it isn’t supposed to be shamed. His reaction is valid. I meant this respectfully:)
