I mean I understand him, he would sacrifice himself thats why he wanted Tite to actually build a life. Then when he saw how much she hurt he tried to make her look at the locket, but as he said god didn't make it so. Tite was destined to die instead of yohan to save humanity, and Yohan was destined to die helping humanity reclaim the land and purify everything.
