Even before AI the hobby translators were getting so good that often the unofficial translation was way better than the official one. What is high bar when originally they started to get better than Manga officials, much easier with manhwa and manhua because official translation quality on those has always been a bit iffy.
And some reason those companies refuse to even think about hiring those people who already know how to do the translations. Of course, it's not always possible, but it seemed to be more of a stupid pride thing for companies.
In some officials maybe cleaning was better, but still there were many times that unofficials had translated the context (or explained it) way better. Or translated it more as a character speak/the right type of saying into English.
Never mind that especially official manhwa translations often have typos.
But it's stupid to buy something if you still have to check unofficial at times to know what is right. Sometimes even MTL is more right with the context, because official translator over fixed something to their bias/cultural habit without knowing the story.
Over the years there have been multiple bridges that companies could have legally join forces with translators who knew what to do, but that never happen.

It seems the official manta translations are out and as many of you would know they used ai for their translations. It's honestly so dissapointing that they make you pay for the chapters but then do such a shitty job.
what's worse is I'm pretty sure they also made an ai animation of the current manhwa thumbnail (you can see for yourself on twitter)
And these companies have the audacity to wonder why people pirate. Anyways, I hope the translator here keeps making fan translations
We really appreciate your work!(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
