It's mean that everyone just all the time think and act like FL is an idiot... She isn't an idiot. NOBODY tells her ANYTHING. Not when she was a child, not in the family she married into, and definitely not ML. Everyone just have decided what she is supposed to know without telling her. ARGH! All the people around her are idiots because they keep relearning the fact that she hasn't grown up in same environment as they are, so she has different knowledge. At this point THEY should know that she doesn't know these things.
