ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION but a silly little theory; we've never actually seen her mother inside the fridge, and we know how heavily medicated sarang is, but we don't know what the medication is for. with all this medication and violent tendencies i think it's very much possible that there's no body inside the fridge at all. she could be hallucinating, or living in delusion. schizophrenia? though the umbrella disorder is not necessary to have regular delusions, especially repeated delusions. but it could definitely just be something inside her head is what i'm saying. that would also make sense for some lose threads hanging around the possibility of being able to keep a dead body in your house for so long unnoticed
this is INCREDIBLE wow. i adore the not-so-subtle nods towards our current day and age and how this is all happening today with the technology and covid flashbacks. the AI being overused especially is essentially a modern epidemic being depicted as almost a warning here. it draws a lot of parallels with the real world and i love how fourth wall leaning that is.
the characters are all incredible. MC is a layered character that has more switches than just your stereotypical "sociopath formed via an unstable household". but i personally almost kind of like subin's character even more her vanity is portrayed BEAUTIFULLY bro every single time something backfires at her it's something completely unexpected and intelligent. if subin had to be a seven deadly sin, she'd be pride. she's so vain it's painful to read about, but it must be even more painful to live through it. connecting the vanity aspect to being a grooming victim is genius too because that pipeline actually is quite common. young kids looking to feel important and unique do cling onto adults who give them special attention when they definitely shouldn't be. i also wondered if her tensing up about the money bets and dues had something to do with her actually belonging to a poor household, but so far we haven't seen anything like that so i might just be reaching. it'd be cool if that was actually true though, it'd add more context as to why subin acts the way she does, if she's felt neglect everywhere else in life.
we don't really know much about jinwon yet but i just KNOW that he's going to be a PEAK character because there is already so much religious imagery surrounsing him. him praying for those dead cats in the dead of night, his mother having contact with his school teacher inside the church, his mother's nature supposedly appearing very proper and righteous, he definitely had a very religious upbringing and how sincerely he follows it is almost eery. beside the obvious elephant in the room, him being unaffected by sarang's antics and psychopathic tendencies and sarang even saying that they're similar, i hope the religious thing ends up being pivotal in his character. that's honestly personal bias i just love religion being explored and questioned in fictional media <3
