I get how you feel but honestly in this context it makes soooo much sense, since grandpa is the only direct family from his mom’s side so is to he expected he wanted to spend time with him. Plus the kids clearly visited mom a lot
The whole staying w the grandpa while the kids essentially grow up w one parent, Lee Hwa, and missing their most important years, esp having given birth to them (I read there's also a biological link bw mom and baby, attachment wise), is so much bs, I can't even.. But ig it's all that obligatory Confucian stuff taken to extremes
