At first I thought it was grooming but tbh, at first he saw the uke kid as someone he needed to protect because he lost his one and only family left, his younger brother.
Gradually, he probably have the habit to think 'I should protect him' and just fell inlove as they stayed together as grown adults.
Just my theory. It is a good story, the offing itself was a bit sad though. Seme was genuinely suffering from d e p r e s s i o n after losing all his family.
