This is how I think the chapter with the mom against them living together with the line "It would crossing the line of friends, I want you and kanon to always get along". I think the mom would not want them to live together with their uncertain and half-hearted feelings as that would most likely lead to their relationship breaking.
As the previous chapters established, it was pretty obvious to the people around them how much kanon loved saki. I would like to think that her mom would notice that too and that would be why she would be against the idea of them living together in that state.
Or maybe I'm just high on cope
I hope the mom and sis heard all that screaming and tease them about it
