Everyone is drowning conclusions from literally thin air, the story hasn't even started yet. While I do understand the history behind the setting, it seems like you all have already made your own story, as if you already know what the characters are gonna do next. Who knows if it will be another problematic manhwa or a nuanced story about the complex relationship between a native American and a war veteran? The plot hasn't even been outlined yet and people are losing their minds, if you want a some story with just fluff or straight up smut that doesn't challenge your ideas about gender and politics don't read it.

Girl I don’t know what the characters are gonna do next but if you ever decide to pick up a book that don’t have dick and balls in it you will know what the aftermath of the confederacy and slavery did. I don’t need to know how the ignorant author is going to write it but I know what happened in real life. Because guess what you melt it’s a real history

If you knew your history ‘shipping’ a war veteran of those times regardless of the sides is so fucking fucked. Native Americans were not seen as people by either side. It’s disgusting and disgraceful

First, I am not even an American, so let's get that "know your history" argument out of the way. How do you know that the MC is going to be a bigot? You don't. How do you know that it will play on the stereotype of the white savior complex? You don't. Generalizing characters based on the historical time they live in is all that you are doing. Also I find the "dick and balls" talk distasteful to say the least. We are having a debate and respect is free.
