Idk guys I think a real historical event as the civil war and thr enslavement of Native Americans and African Americans being portrayed this way definitely speaks of white supremacy... First chapter and the MC is a white man that lost everything hence making every worker leave and compensating them all in one chapter, we couldn't even see their faces, he just handed money and said leave if u want, whether the MC wished them well (he said he's not a Southerner) that was still such an inadequate execution of scene, the author might have read some history about the civil war but i can't help but feel like jaxx is using real historical facts as fuel for Smut where power dynamics still play a role. I'm pretty sure after this chapter, class difference, segregation, heritage and racism will be brought up as it alrd showed us it's a part of the story. And I'm honestly uncomfortable with all this being portrayed and used this way. At least "under the green light" got to an early point in the plot in which both characters stood on the same level and the circumstances surrounding them was more justified than with this story. Well ig this story just started but it's a horrible start and if you keep reading it it's either bc you simply dont care about how real history is being portrayed and understood (mostly being taken for granted bc thats in the past and it didnt happen to u right? Pfft) , or you wanna know more to properly judge. I'm choosing the second option bc i wanna make sure the author (i hope) is not using REAL historical facts, again, to fuel their fantasies and maybe MAYBE leave a real message besides gay porn. Istg jaxx couldve done something like "Brokeback mountain" and everyone would be happy but no bc apparently everyone is so fucking numb to realize that real life slavery and the history surrounding the US, IS NOT A LIGHT topic.
