I kind of left a similar response on another ask but this is pretty much how I believe it works? Don’t take my word on this hehehe. I’ve noticed that yaoi is often used as a way for girls to explore their sexuality and relationship without being trapped by gender norms and the patriarchy. Girls are taught to see their bodies as something that is no longer ‘pure’ once they’ve engaged in sex acts, whether through blunt language or unconscious societal norms and unspoken gender comprehension. By removing the aspect that the reader views as dirty or shameful the reader can enjoy the story to the fullest instead of being caught up on the gender aspect. Maybe I didn’t phrase this the best but the phenomena is real.
I accidentally came here to read demon slayer and when I finished I really got curious about a cover page. Then I read it( don't remember which one) Then I started to read from one side to another. I really enjoy reading stories. Discovering bl was very new to me. Why I kept reading them I thought about it before some of the reasons I found
-it's because Male male relationship creates so many situations that a straight couples don't have
- Sometimes it felt like a sacred love or unattainable love because society put a lot of restrictions on it.
- It's good to see emotionally available men ( some stories have assholes
-Because it break free from the gender roles we are born into
I had so many reasons. I forgot about it.

I am most attached to bl bcz I hate false affection. And also the reality of society is when 1 proposes others they feel like they r miss universe or mr universe. Love should be wanting to see other spend time each other. Hearing to talk to each otherヾ(☆▽☆)
