I'm more bothered by the fact that deep-ish hand cuts are usually pretty serious. Grabbing a knife bare handed would be pretty likely to require surgery. Too many tiny but crucial tendons and nerves all over the place...
do you KNOW how many pain receptors are in the hand? its a popular torture technique to tear off nails. cause the pain is that bad. good heavens.
