Those were fictional stories. This manwha is based on real events that black people are still suffering from till this day. The dehumanization of black people among Koreans is prominent to this day. That’s the reason people are angry.
If the author wanted to make a slavery story they should’ve focused on their country’s history. The only reason they’re comfortable writing this story is because they dehumanize black people.
I second that to the actual hypocrites. However I take the backlash this bl is receiving as a positive sign to becoming more “aware” or “woke”. I mean if you go to those manhwas that contain rape there are a few people who are voicing out on how fucked up and problematic that is. I do truly hope that we can be more woke and apply it to these stories with romanticization (of rape and other) and ill representation and not just to 1 or 2 manhwas that went big with their issue.
And i’ll also say that the racism and it’s representation problem is way waay huge so this manhwa getting more attention and backlash then other manhwas that contain rape and shit is still better then having nothing because at least we r aware about this matter.
